STAFF @ THE OPEN DOOR ACADEMY

 Jo has been a Deputy Headteacher of a virtual school for looked after children and and an Assistant Headteacher of a lower school in Central Beds.  She has over 20 years experience working in a variety of educational establishments, including teaching across year groups from reception to year 4.  She holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO). Jo has completed training in trauma and attachment and mental health first aid. 

Jess is a maths teacher supporting students previously in an independent school. She specialises in working with students with specific learning difficulties and SEND.

Laura is an exceptionally dedicated individual.  She is calm under pressure, communicates clearly and has over 17 years experience working with students with Autism & ADHD.

Liz is a SENCO with many years experience.  She is a qualified Dyslexia assessor with PATOSS. She is also an Executive Functioning coach (see our Education page for more info) and a English & Art Teacher up to A' Level standard.

Amanda is an advocate of the Open Door Academy  I have developed a passionate commitment to supporting and inspiring children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and EBSA through education. My aim is to promote happiness and success within a safe and nurturing learning environment. I have cultivated strong relationships with many parents in the local community and possess a personal understanding of the challenges they face.  

Laura is a qualified teacher who has been teaching Science for 14 years in Secondary Schools. At my previous school, I was also KS3 Science Coordinator for 4 years.
