I would like to highlight the extremely positive experience we have had with PUPIL A's alternative provision. Jo and her team have been outstanding in their approach, and it is clear that safeguarding and communication are at the heart of everything they do.
PUPIL A feels safe, understood, and supported in a way that has made a real difference to her wellbeing and confidence. The team take the time to build relationships and work at PUPIL A’s pace, which has been crucial in helping her re-engage with education.
Communication with me as a parent has been clear, consistent, and compassionate. I feel listened to and involved, and any concerns are handled sensitively and promptly. There is a genuine sense that they care about PUPIL A as an individual, not just as a pupil.
Overall, the provision has created a safe, nurturing environment where PUPIL A is able to succeed, and I cannot speak highly enough of Jo and her team.
I also wanted to share some feedback for you all at The Open Door as NAME gets ready to leave - please also pass onto Dave & Mandy as well as Laura & Jess.
As NAME prepares to leave Open Door Academy and begin the next stage of her educational journey, I wanted to take the opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for everything you have done for her and our family.
When NAME first joined Open Door, she was experiencing significant anxiety around education and I carried many fears and concerns about whether she would be able to re-engage with learning in any meaningful way. From the very beginning, the team created a safe, supportive and nurturing environment where NAME felt accepted, understood and valued.
One of the most important things Open Door has given NAME is a sense of belonging. Through the kindness, patience and understanding shown by the staff, she has been able to build trust in educational professionals again and develop positive relationships that have supported both her emotional wellbeing and her academic progress.
Jo, Laura and Jess have each played a significant role in this journey. They have taken the time to truly get to know NAME , understand her individual needs and support her through challenges with compassion and empathy. The relationships they have built with her have been invaluable and have helped her feel safe enough to engage, learn and grow.
As a parent, Open Door has also helped to ease many of my own fears and anxieties. Seeing NAME attend a provision where she feels safe, understood and supported has been incredibly reassuring. It has shown me that with the right environment and the right people around her, NAME can thrive.
The support provided has never focused solely on academics; equal importance has been given to NAME ’s emotional needs, confidence and wellbeing. This holistic approach has made a lasting difference and has helped prepare her for the transition to Upper School.
I cannot thank the team enough or praise them highly enough for the care, dedication and support they have shown. Open Door has been a lifeline during an incredibly difficult period and will always hold a special place in our family’s journey.
Thank you for believing in NAME , supporting her and helping her rediscover confidence in herself and in education.
